Biuro Informacji Gospodarczej (BIG)
Biuro Informacji Gospodarczej (BIG) is an institution operating on the basis of the Act on Access to Business Information and Exchange of Business Data of 9 April 2010. Their main purpose is to collect, collect and share business information on individuals and businesses.
In Poland, there is not one centralised BIG, but as many as 5 independently operating registers. These are:
- BIG InfoMonitor,
- Rejestr Dłużników ERIF,
- Krajowy Rejestr Długów,
- Krajowe Biuro Informacji Gospodarczej,
- Krajowa Informacja Długów Telekomunikacyjnych.
Each BIG maintains its own debtor register containing information on the debts of businesses and individuals. Some of the BIGs also collect positive economic information, i.e. information on liabilities repaid on time.
Information contained in BIG databases is an important source of knowledge for banks, loan or leasing companies. By verifying the database before concluding a contract with a new client, they can check whether the person with whom they intend to enter into cooperation does not have debts entered on a 'black list'. Presence in a debtor database can be one of the reasons for refusing a loan or credit. This is why it is a good idea to generate a BIG Report on yourself before submitting a credit application. In this way, you will find out how a lender sees you. If it turns out that your details are on the debtors' list, you will have the chance to pay off the debt before submitting your application, thus increasing your chances of receiving financing.
